Bob Bell of La Mesa has spent nearly 50 years studying about the American Civil War, visiting battlefields and taking part in San Diego's Civil War Round Table. As the 150th anniversary of the start of the war approaches, he hopes Americans pay more attention to the people who were a part of it and the causes, issues and ramifications of the conflict.
