Gordon Haller, champion of the inaugural Ironman race in Hawaii in 1978, is still doing Ironman races at 65

When Gordon Haller crossed the finish line of the very first Ironman triathlon in 1978, he remembers there being about three people there to greet him. Only 15 people entered the race, which had an entry fee of $3. Now, at age 65, Haller is still entering triathlons, as well as long-distance swims, runs and bike races. My story on Haller for ESPN.com's Endurance Sports section: First Ironman winner in 1978, Gordon Haller, is still doing Ironman races at 65.
