Before 'wardrobe malfunctions' and superstars took over Super Bowl halftime, Up With People was a four-time starring act
Even in the late 1970s and '80s when Up With People was starring as the main act of four Super Bowl halftime shows, the group was ridiculed my many who saw the smiling, dancing performers as the uncoolest kids on the block. Decades later, Up With People is still taking shots from those who say their act was one of the worst ever to show up at a Super Bowl. For Up With People -- which still exists -- the abuse just bounces away. Performing in the Super Bowl is something the group is proud of, but it's not their main mission.
