Whittier College has never produced a great football player, and it's always played in the shadows of other nearby programs such as UCLA, USC and even Long Beach State (before it was disbanded). But once upon a time, the Poets of Whittier had two giants of coaching, George Allen and Don Coryell, and the school produced victories galore.
