Horticulturist at the San Diego Botanic Garden credits long-ago trip to SoCal as inspiration for work

Dave Ehrlinger never set out to be a horticulturist. But once the Midwest kid came to San Diego after college on a trip to visit a friend, he was inspired by the new plants he saw to go back to school for new studies. The director of horticulture at the garden still learns new things about plants every day.
