Former Staff Sgt. Rico Roman, who lost a leg in Iraq, is now skating toward Sochi as part of U.S. Paralympic sled hockey team

Rico Roman played football, basketball and wrestled in high school in Portland, Ore. Hockey was something he didn't know or care about. But after losing a leg to an improved explosive device on his third deployment to Iraq, Roman was seeking new ways to stoke his competitive fire. He found it in sled hockey, a fast, physical sport in which he can bang opponents the same way he used to in football. My story on Roman for the U.S. Olympic website's Go For The Gold series on TeamUSA.org: http://www.teamusa.org/News/2013/January/01/Go-For-The-Gold-Home/Go-For-The-Gold-Rico-Roman.aspx
