Her young sons may not yet understand what Vonetta Flowers accomplished back in 2002, but at the Salt Lake City Olympics, Flowers made history by becoming the first African-American athlete to win a gold medal at a Winter Olympics as she and driver Jill Bakken won the gold medal in women's bobsled.
