Little dogs provide big boost for patients at hospital
Harper, a 29-pound Bichon Frise, just loves to be around people, and for the past 4 1/2 years, the little guy and his person, owner Billie English, have been part of the pet therapy program at a San Diego hospital. The dogs' presence gives patients -- some who are in great distress -- some time to relax with a visitor who just wants to cuddle. My story for the San Diego Union-Tribune's pet page: http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2012/sep/01/lending-a-healing-paw/
